At first look, Da Vinci Resolve Video Editor feels very professional. I managed to take out my first video on this application and it worked. The video editor was quite simple but it did take me three hours to understand the panels.
If you want to edit your videos for free you are going to love Davinci Resolve. This is developed by Blackmagic Design and is an amazing application for editing. For all those YouTube videos rather than buying the premium version, I would suggest trying this first. Very powerful and freeware. If I had to compare this with the apples and mangoes that would not be fair because it is free. As soon as the application becomes free it almost kills my expectations for the simple fact that it’s free. We should thank them for the freeware. We can not have all in one free package because people create and people earn and people remain the same. Da Vinci Resolve Video Editor also has a Pro version if you are in real movie making.
I am still using the 15 but the 16 a newer version is out. For me video editing is all about cutting, pasting, adding titles and a bit of noise correction. This application does fine for me but there is much more to this application. Learning is an endless process so I would keep doing that. I have also heard that when you stick with one video editing application it is a little difficult to shift to others. So, keep this in mind while choosing the first application.
Panels are easy to navigate once you know what is what. Autoscaling, cutting, and music merging are brilliant. Rendering was easy and has a YouTube preset in it.
I am quite satisfied with the panels and easiness of use of the control. Speed from start to end of video processing is quite fast. Da Vinci ResolveĀ Video Editor is by the company Blackmagic Design which is into manufacturing video and movie equipment. They use the same application for their equipment so Da Vinci Resolve is handcrafted as Pro and then some features are removed. The features we don’t have are multi-user collaboration, some 3D tools, and some Resolve FX.
Davinci Resolve 16 is available for download from the official site but it is a beta version. This version has more features than the earlier version. I don’t think I am going to use all the features that are there in the application but you can. So, go ahead and edit some videos from your smartphones and digital cameras.
I don’t think I am missing anything needed. Let’s work on this tool and then take a call on the application shift because I have been scouting video editors for some time now. Have already used Pitivi, Kdenlive and Premiere Pro. Da Vinci Resolve will be the fourth one I am going to try. Let me know if you have any tips on Da Vinci Resolve.
